Monday
[info]sep_survivors
Today is Monday and I have been working diligently on my checklist so that I make sure the ENTIRE story is told...My only requirement is that OPSEC is observed...I am currently researching as to what information (since most of the stories are in the past) you can divulge...I will only be putting something like "Melissa O., Georgia or M. Oakley-Georgia or Mrs. Oakley-Georgia" or something like that at the end of the stories/tips/etc.

I have a couple titles for the book that I will be posting for a vote...I also know what the cover will look like...I have a photo of our daughter that was taken the day my husband deployed in 2007. If you are on my personal journal, you know what photo I am talking about. Our daughter was 2.5 at the time and she was reaching up, in the middle of all of the gear in the hanger, for daddy to pick her up and take her with him...I will post the mock cover in a couple days...Keep watching!!

UNTIL TOMORROW!!!

First things first!!!

Okay...I want to know a couple things from everyone!!!

1. What is the one thing you wish you had known about before your Mil Member was separated from you (that you found out about after you needed it, not when you would have actually been able to use it)?
2. What branch are you associated with? (or branches if you have multiple services in the family)
3. What is the best thing about being part of a military family? (this pertains to anyone and everyone, mom/dad/sibling/child/wife/husband/friend/other)
4. What is the not so greatest thing about being part of a military family? (other than the separations/deployments)

Give me what you got!!! If it is a page long, then so be it!!! I want to get a little background info on my focus groups!!!!

Here are my answers:
1. I wish I had known that my husband was going to lose tons of weight and look oh so gorgeous when he came home...I would have made a little more effort while he was gone to make myself look equally as HOT!!!
2. We are Active Duty Army, my brother and his wife are both Marines and my dad was in the Navy.
3. I love the fact that we get a chance to travel and be part of such a wonderful community of friends and family (and friends that become family during those 1+ years at your station)
4. I really dislike the transition time when hubby comes back from where ever (sp?) he has been. Even being gone 2 weeks sets us back a few days when we re-unite. The girls get used to being without daddy, then BAM, he is home again.

Thanks!!!
